<title>1. The purpose of this poem is to draw a parallel between the Myra Hindley&#39;s portrayal in popular media and what she thought of herself and her crimes.

2. The context of the poem, obviously, are the &#39;Moors Murders&#39; where Ian Bradey and Myra Hindley abused, tortured and murdered children to fulfil their sadist sexual desires.

The 3 main themes discusses in the poem are-:
1. Theme of Denial where Myra tries to scapegoat Ian and blames him for all the heinous crimes she perpetrated.
2. Theme of Penance where Myra tries to convey the message that she has changed and no longer a threat.
3. Theme of Infatuation and Sadism which discusses how Myra did the most unprecedented things out of her blind love for Ian.

<title>Duffy warns us that ignoring the possibility of innate evil is unwise. She also plays on the immortalisation of Myra&#39;s stone cold image to question and highlight why Myra, a female accomplice, was/is forever remembered as being &quot;worse&quot; than the Devil himself. Additionally, she prompts us to consider the extent of &quot;love&quot; as a controlling tool for evil.
