(Skip to get to video guides below)</strong></p><p><br/></p><ol><li><p><strong>Prepare the Surface: </strong>Clean the area to remove debris and fixtures. Fill and sand any imperfections if necessary.​</p></li><li><p><strong>Tape the Edges: </strong>Apply masking tape along the floor edge to protect it from paint.​</p></li><li><p><strong>Cut in Edges First: </strong>Use a brush to paint the corners and edges, especially where the wall meets the floor.​</p></li><li><p><strong>Roll the Paint: </strong>Use a roller with the correct sleeve and a handle extender to cover larger areas.​</p></li><li><p><strong>Layering Paint: </strong>Allow paint to dry between coats (check the paint instructions for drying time). Once the wall layers are done, tape the floor edge to prevent rolling into the wall with floor paint.​</p></li><li><p><strong>Painting the Floor: </strong>Cut the wall edges with a brush and avoid getting floor paint on the walls, as this is difficult to correct. Pour paint directly on the floor in small amounts. If there is a reusability aspect to any of your plastic use, make it last for as long as possible.</p><p><br/></p><p>Building a bespoke wooden crate for your work is almost like making a basic cabinet. How does you work sit in it? Does it have to be up-right? Can you secure the work to the bottom of the crate? When drilled, white plaster dust is produced. Made of standard 1220mm x 2440mm boards/ sheets. </em><strong>PRE- DRILL (Pilot hole)</strong> with a wood drill bit. If the artwork is very light, you can sometimes get away with no predrilling and screw the screw or hammer the nail straight in. Plasterboard has crumbly properties and can wear over time. You can get long term specific Rawlplugs, but for a temporary display, you can use <a rel="nofollow noreferrer" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfGG1Z5m-5A"><strong><mark>these</mark></strong></a>. If you plan on installing something "heavier" on plasterboard, you might need to assess what plug or fixture you are using, considering the depth of the void area behind the plasterboard.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong><mark>MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard)</mark></strong></p><p><em>Sounds hollow when knocking on it. When drilled, brown or reddish brown fine dust created </em><strong><em><mark>(Be careful, as sanding or cutting large areas of MDF produces a lot of toxic dust - when doing this, make sure you have extraction and a N95 dust mask)</mark></em></strong><em>. Made of standard 1220mm x 2440mm boards/ sheets. </em><strong>No pre-drill necessary! Unless</strong> installing hooks, you would need to drill a hole slightly smaller than the hook diameter, so the spiral thread is caught.<em> This material can swell if water is absorbed into it.</em></p><p><br/></p><p><strong><mark>Plywood or OSB (Oriented Strand Board)</mark></strong></p><p><em>Similar to MDF, sounds hollow when knocking on it. When drilled, yellow/ light beige wood flakes are created. Made of standard 1220mm x 2440mm boards/ sheets. </em><strong>No pre-drill necessary! Unless</strong> installing hooks, you would need to drill a hole slightly smaller than the hook diameter, so the spiral thread is caught.
