Dominique Armani Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Lil Baby was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 3rd, 1994 into a lower-middle-class family, which lived in the suburbs of Georgia. Throughout his childhood, he was exposed to many criminal activities. Lil Baby was never interested in academics. He spent most of his early days just hanging around with his friends and selling illegal drugs on the street. He always had a passion for music, but living the life of a criminal seemed better and easier than any other profession. He was sentenced to five years in prison for selling drugs. While in prison, he showed signs of improvement, which led him to be released in just two years. Upon his release, he decided he wanted a better life, and Lil Baby started developing his debut mixtape.

He rose to mainstream fame in 2017 for the release of his mixtape "Harder than Hard" which included his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with its lead single "My Dawg." Lil Baby is a true inspiration to countless people around the world. He started with nothing and has grown that into a story of success. Lil Baby's breakout showed kids, teens, and even adults in the hood everywhere that there is a way out. Lil Baby inspires me because I relate to a lot of the things he raps about. For example, how he wants to give back to his mom, family problems, friends switching up, someone passing, trying not to take things personally, problems happening in the world, etc. I feel as if Lil Baby raps about real things that happen in life rather than just sexual stuff, girls, and unnecessary things. Lil Baby was a street hustler. In 2015, at age 19, Lil Baby went to prison for two years for a probation violation.
