1st song: Everybody Loves The Sunshine – Netsky, Babl Lemmens, Daddy Waku, Chantal Kashala (https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/4ch0ejqrSwJrotLroa9mXn?si=3ee5f424b19d43d5)

This song is about how everyone loves the sun. And it's true, because as I read in the book, without the sun and its energy we would not exist and there would be no life in any form

2nd song: Fix You – Coldplay (https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/7LVHVU3tWfcxj5aiPFEW4Q?si=0ead882271364e17)

"Lights will guide you home" as a reminder that we will see the light in loneliness or in difficult times. I associate it with the beam of white light, a light that helps you escape from the bad moment. And in relation to the book I read, light as a physical phenomenon that allows us to see objects and our surroundings. Without light we would see nothing. In the song, this light symbolises hope and the solution to a problem or a bad moment

3rd song: Any Colour You Like – Pink Floyd (https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/1wGoqD0vrf7njGvxm8CEf5?si=f3343d87796c4bea)

This song has no lyrics, but its title suggests "any colour you like". It is a mixture of different melodies that evoke the many colours of the visible light spectrum

4th song: Galaxy Song – Monty Python (https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/34yg9VNqMh8WLKCAipKXgO?si=b474795a4d164f9e)

The song's lyrics describe the speed at which the Earth rotates on its axis and travels around the Sun, and how the Sun, accompanied by the visible stars, moves through the galaxy. It invites us to reflect on how tiny and insignificant we are in the vastness of the cosmos. It also mentions that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is just one of countless galaxies in the universe, reinforcing the idea of our smallness. In fact, the song explores the constant expansion of the universe and the unlikely coincidence of our existence

5th song: Over the Rainbow – Israel Kamakawiwo’ole (https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/3oQomOPRNQ5NVFUmLJHbAV?si=460eda4b431847fe)

This song speculates on what might be behind a rainbow. A rainbow is a physical phenomenon that occurs when light is refracted through water droplets. This phenomenon is explained in the book and is the central element of the song

6th song: Cornfield Chase – Hans Zimmer (https://open.spotify.com/intl-es/track/6pWgRkpqVfxnj3WuIcJ7WP?si=c128f01a5ebc4189)

It has no lyrics, but is part of the soundtrack to the film “Interestellar”, where they embark on a space journey to find a place with the necessary conditions to replace Earth and start a new life there. I think this and the others in the film are the perfect songs to listen to while reading this book, as it explains so many aspects of the universe

7th song: Time – Hans Zimmer

Like the previous song, it's part of the soundtrack of another film, "Inception". With the power of a symphony orchestra in contrast to other quieter musical moments, and in relation to its title, it makes me think about the passage of time and how we can never stop it. I relate this to the chapter in the book that talks about sundials and how a global system of time management has been put in place to organise our society

I hope you enjoy!

Roser

Today I write about a story, which has been told in many differents ways, but the important is the protagonist of it.

I read the book, written by John Briley, and I can only say that it impressed me enormously that I had't heard about Steve Biko before.

The book tells the story about this activist who fougth against Apartheid in South Africa and died for it. But not only that, but also it tells the story about the friendship between Biko and a white journalist, and how that friendship changed everything forever in their lifes.

When I was reading the chapters, one after another, I was absorbed. I wanted to know that everything could finish well, but it is a true story, and the reality is unfortunately always hard.

I would recommend this book because I think it is very important to know the story about Steve Biko and other stories like his. Specially these days, when we are repeating the past mistakes of History.

But the most important thing. This book shows us how we can be part of the change and how we can build a community where the vulnerable people could have a bond in a safe place.

Sadly, it has not a happy ending. For this reason it is complicated to me to choose a favorite moment from the book. Anyway, if I have to do it, it would talk about the moment when Donald Woods, the journalist, understands the reality of black people in South Africa, the moment when he creates a forever bond with Biko.
