My holder is formed from a key shape. It is shaped in the way where the battery and LED is fixed inside the holder securely. But opening up the key parts is not tough, thus changing of any parts is relatively easy.

This LED holder can be used in key chains, torchlight or necklace. When switched on, it seems like it is used for concerts.

Originally, I planned to install a switch to control the light, but after trying for 3 days, I decide to go back to the classic design. With no battery case, wiring and having the switch to move up and down was the problem. Regardless, the LED and battery still fits nicely where it will not drop out when it is shaken.

My holder is formed from two squares, one smaller than the other, with circle and rectangle for the features. I used a simplistic design to make a bullet; layers of circles of different sizes and cones to form the head of the bullet. It is made of 2 separate parts, the top and the bottom, where the bullet is inserted into the centre of the model. My 3d LED holder is made up 2 separated parts, a container and a cover.

The container was made through subtracting smaller cubes and a triangle from a larger cube. The slots for the button battery and LED were also created through subtracting the provided button battery and LED model from the container.

The cover was made by scaling down a cube and subtracting a button battery and LED model. It also has a special design made through scaling down a triangle and subtracting it form the cover.

My concept was to make a design that would closely resemble to the shape and structure of the battery.

That will ensure that it will provide a snug fit to the battery so that it will not fall out easily.

I also wanted to make a slot in which i can easily remove the battery.

This is my 3D LED flashing light holder. The holder is made into a shape of a house with a smiling face on the roof by combining 3 components. There is a triangular shaped opening on the top of the house to let the light come out with a triangular shape. The entire light holder is made up of triangles and a rectangular cube. The Roof shaped cover is optional and mainly an accessory. My 3D Flashing LED model is designed as a robot/human like model. I spray painted it black so that the only way light is travelling outwards is through the holes of the eye and the mouth. I initially thought of it by adding 2 rectangles with 2 small holes as the eyes and slowly developed to what it is right now. Disco Lamp The base of my model is a cuboid to hold the battery. The sphere on top is designed to look like a combination of a disco ball and a lamp. My LED light holder is shaped like a holder of the hour glass. It is made from two triangular pieces with 3 cylindrical stands at each side to allow for the LED light to hang from the top. My design is form from a cone shape which is a more ergonomic shape than a square or triangle. I was inspired by the Olympic torch! Must be held with care, confidence and determination. The square dent at the centre is a mark. "Dent" metaphorically meant leaving my mark there. Which is a prove of authenticity. My 3D model is designed after a UFO. It has a makeshift latch at the bottom of the UFO that helps keep the battery and LED in place. It printed with supports, due to its irregular shape, in 3 hours. After the printing was done, I had to sand the supports off. The entire process of designing, printing, and putting on the finishing touches took a total of 7 hours, with printing taking the majority of the time. Name of design : The Starjump

This is my Design Thinking Individual Assignment 1) 3D Printed flashing LED light holder. The design is created from a cube and triangle to form the shape at the center of the cube. The shape represents a person jumping high performing a star shape or a starjump. The two small triangle shape near the battery slot acts as a stopper so the battery leans on it and does not slip out.

The shape is made out of a sphere together with a cube. The cube is added for extra stability. The sphere is then hollowed out with another sphere creating a crater like shape. My 3D design is based on a sphere with bottom cut design. It was supposed to be transparent but the 3D printer does not have transparent material. My holder is formed by using a sphere, a hexagon and a square shape. The sphere is the main body of the model and holds the battery. This is my 3D LED design, the design is inspired by a CPU motherboard BIOS battery holder with a little of modifications such as having a cube like stopper and a shallow cylinder inside the main cube. To actually make the battery fit in I have to use a scalpel like tool to scrap off some excessive material.

The cover was inspired by my pillow covering the battery to make it look neat. The interior of the cover is a cavity of the three cube like stoppers, the shallow cylinder and the battery holder.

In total I made about 4 LED holders, each learning from the design mistakes to learning about the printer limitations and some post printing modifications.

My design represents a candle. Since I love the smell of scented candles, I created my own design of candle. My scented candle is unique as the smell will come out through the holes will allow the smell to last longer.
