Tris Prior lives in a futuristic world that is divided into 5 factions. When people turn 16, they must choose a faction to live in, but when Tris takes her test to decide, it tells her she is Divergent (has the aptitude to be in multiple factions). She ends up transferring out of her faction only to discover an upcoming war which threatens everyone she loves.

I personally give this book a 5/5 star rating. I really enjoyed reading this book because it has a very intense and interesting plot.

The main setting in “Divergent” is Dauntless Headquarters. This is the faction where Tris transfers to so many of the book’s events happen at this place.

I think the most important theme in this series is identity because Tris has to deal with the burden of being Divergent. Not many people that she known are Divergent and is forced to keep it a secret from her friends and family. Everyone she knows fits into one faction, but she is able to fit into three.
