When kids are trained to use the mute and raise hand features, it makes maintaining engagement easier. Gamification was a great way to engage students and help them interact with the lesson in a fun way.

I did encounter one issue - my flocabulary subscription was expired, so only half of my video would play, so I quickly pulled up a brainpop video. I would say just having quick resources available in case something doesn't go as planned. I have a folder of resources handy and will be glad to share if anyone needs them.

#1 Students enjoyed using the pen feature during math review. Many were excited to have a turn with the pen.

Everything went as expected. However, I did need Dr. Allen's help when Google Meet would not let me unmute my students. However, I think that was a me issue and not a Google issue.

I feel like I overplanned so I did not have any issues. However, I did run short of time sometimes. Internet for everyone was lagging.

I feel like overall AMI was successful. Once attendance for AMI was clarified, I think that made a difference. However, it may be helpful to have the school/admin send out the attendance expectations for AMI. Teachers were the messengers and some of us got an earful. However, parents did understand that we were the messengers. The packet controversy was a lot.

My kids loved learning with games. I had more participation when we used Pink Cat Games as a review.

My students were engaged during our stories and then following with a directed draw (arthubforkids.com) for journals. They then wrote about the picture.

Having a virtual classroom set up early in the year, where students practice going to and then finding appropriate academic games (UFLI games, starfall, pink cat games, xtramath, etc) made it easy for AMI. During RTI, they were allowed to go to our virtual classroom and practice while I watched on GoGuardian. If students used a home computer, I shared the address in the "chat" (which we practiced also) and they could open them up at home.

I felt like all went well, as expected. I LOVE the new feature of turning off their microphones and cameras during break, rather then "ending" and restarting, but keeping them from getting in trouble online while you step away for break.

I sent home white boards and markers for my students to use during AMI. It was just like being in class being able to quickly assess.

Everything went as expected for kindergarten. They did great with muting and raising hands to answer. The one spot I struggled with was my break out rooms being grayed out. I had to move everyone myself into a room but the next day it was fixed so maybe just a glitch one day.

None right now. I think having Dr. Allen come in and practice AMI with my class was very beneficial. My students were pros!
