Moments before his death his standing physicians state that he was hallucinating and calling out for "Reynolds" who still remains a mystery. There are many theories of how he died one being a brain tumor. This is a very popular theory due to his delirium. Another assumption of his death is murder. It is believed that he was killed by the brothers of his wealthy fiance. He was ambushed by the brother when he arrived in Philadelphia for a meeting after warning him to not marry their sister.

Edgar Allen Poe was born January 19, 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts. His father abandoned him in his family when he was just 12 months old, and his mother died when he was 2 years old. He was later on taken in by a family that never actually adopted him, but left him well fed and gave him a good childhood. Although he was taken care of and had supportive guardians, Poe always described his childhood dull and depressing, which some say may be the reason to his dark and "scary" stories that were never uplifting or joyful.

He was a creative poet that used poetry to tell real stories about his life.

Sydney:

Emma: In my opinion , Poe was a very creative man who thought a lot differently than others. His stories were very profound and detailed. He went through a lot and strived to write amazing poems.

The Raven was a poem about remembrance. It talked about a bird, the raven, and mention things that related to mourning. The overall message is how grief can overcome a person's ability to live in the present. This relates to Poe's personal life because the bird represents his past lover, Lenore.
