1. The Roman Empire was
established in 27 BC and fell in
476 AD.
2. It is undoubtably the most
famous and most remembered
empire of all time. When you
think of an ideal empire at its
peak you think of the Roman
Empire.
3. The Roman's military was so
successful because not only
was it so big in size but it was
also very smart and strategic.
Multiple other "empires" took
good things from the Roman
Empire and expanded on them.

1. The Ottoman Empire
originated in 1299 and fell in
1923.
2. The Ottoman Empire viewed
themselves as the direct
successors of the Roman
Empire.
3. Both empires were very
expansionist ruling their
empire through a complex
Beaucracy where harsh laws
existed.
4. Also both empires were very
high on protecting their coasts
as they relied on them for their
key to expansion and existence
in the first place and is HUGE
part in maintaining large and
advanced navies at the time.
5. The start of both these
empires in general started with
expansion based on the fact of
being led by strong
expansionist leaders.
6. But both leaders made big
exploits that would eventually
cause their demise

At its peak Imperial Russia was
one of the biggest and most
powerful empires. At one
point Imperial Russia
controlled parts of North
America.
4. It terms of what it was like the
Russian Empires politics,
economics, and social lives
were completely backwards.
There was a small industry and
a vast majority of the
population who were peasant
farmers.
The Nazi Party

The Nazi party originated
February 24th, 1920 in Munich
Germany. Finally on October
10th, 1945 the Nazi party finally
fell.
2. In 1929 Germany was suffering
from severe economic
depression and a large spread
of unemployment which they
used to get Hitler and other
leaders elected into powerful
positions in government.
3. In the Mid-late 30's Hitler was
in the process of undoing the
treaty of Versailles so he could
start his attack
4. Eventually on September 1st,
1939 Hitler struck and started
his invasion of Poland
5. Six years of Nazi party foreign
policy had finally ignited World
War Il
6. After conquering Poland
focused of deaf eating Britain
and France and the rest of
Europe from 1939-45.
7. In the process of this they
found themselves making allies
with multiple countries like
Italy and Japan.
8. In the middle of this the Nazis
broke its Nonaggression pact
with the Soviet Union and
launched a HUGE invasion of
the Soviet Union(blitzkrieg)
9. After the US entered the war in
1941 the Nazis found
themselves fighting in places
like North Africa, Italy, France,
the balkans and defending
against a counterattacking
Soviet Union. After fighting for
domination they were
eventually starting to fight to
exist
10. Before starting their invasions
Hitler and the Nazis were
banning and killing hundreds
of thousands of Jews. It got
much worse when they started
their invasions. Polish Jews
resourced to hiding in ghettos
and if caught were put into
concentration camps. Most
Jews that we aren't caught
were dying of starvation.
11. Even while invading the Soviet
Union they killed tons of Jews
in western regions of Soviet
Russia.

NATO

1. On April 4th, 1949 the North
Atlantic Treaty was signed, that
when NATO was created
2. When founded NATO
consisted of 12 countries:
Belgium, Canada, Denmark, the
US, France, Iceland, Italy,
Luxembourg, the Netherlands,
Norway, Portugal, and the
United Kingdom. Now there
are a total of 30 countries in
Nato. Some notable countries
to join later on were Germany,
Spain, Turkey, Sweden, Poland,
Greece and many more.
Together NATO is an
EXTREMELY strong army when
together
3. NATO was created for 3 main
reasons. Deterring Soviet
expansion, forbidding the
revival of nationalist militarism
in Europe, and encouraging
European political integration
This has worked very well and
is even working now as Russia
is staying away from NATO
protected countries as they do
not want to wage war with
NATO. As in the treaty it states,
"'an armed attack against one
or more of them... shall be
considered an attack against
all"
4. After the fall of the Soviet
Union there was the question
going around if NATO was even
needed. They eventually kept
NATO with some changes but
nothing to major
5. NATO still stands today
stronger than ever continuing to
do its job and help and protect
each other whenever needed
6. While the Roman Empire and
NATO might be complete opposites
NATO wouldn't exist without the
Roman Empire, NATO took what
was happening at the time and
what happened with Rome and
previous empires and created
something that would've stopped
threats like the Roman Empire and
the Soviet Union.
