Once I had decided that I was going to do a music video I knew the aesthetic of the video and therefore I felt as if I had to reverse egineer the song based on this fact whereas before I would pick the song and then the aesthetic. Some of the songs listed above, even if I wanted to do them I knew it would not result in the best final project as the songs are sung by a man and I am having my main actor be my sister for ease during filming. Attached above is snippets of all the songs I have mentioned. Although the lyrics sound different and like they are telling different stories I feel like they can all be interpreted in the same way of childhood nostalgia, growing up and getting older.

The mood board attached above is the aesthetic of the music video that I have had visualised in my head since I decided on creating a music video. After ruling out some of the songs due to being a male singer, I then listened to the remaining songs and tried to vizualise the finallised music video thinking about what I want to achieve and what is within my limits. That being said, the final song I have chosen for my music video is Slipping Through My Fingers by Meryl Streep and Amanda Syfried. I would quite like to use archieve footage and photos throughout my music video and when playing this song and listening to the lyrics I feel there are moments that would easily work throughout the duration and would not seem forced.

Having said this, I know that I will not be making a performance music video but I am currently still open to the idea of making a concept music video rather than a narrative music video so I will be doing some more research into these two to figure out which one will best suit my chosen song.

The second shot I did was in the kitchen, and this was also focussed on positioning. I need to make sure that when actually filming, there is nothing in the way on the table, as adding the photo on top would look weird as everything on the table would just disappear under the image. As well as this, I need to make sure the exposure is slightly brighter in the video footage as it is slightly too dark in comparison to the photo. As the young photo, Hannah is by the window I know that this will make her brighter but in the test shoot footage I think it is too different to be natural.

The final clip, I just wanted to test filming outdoor footage while moving and not being stationary like the first clip, as the changing in the positioning of the sun while moving can impact the quality of the footage. I did not film in the location I plan on filming in, as it is a thirty minute drive away and did not think it would be necessary to travels so far for such a short amount of filming time, so I used my garden instead as it is also outside.

Due to a limited time with filming, I changed the filming location to Elmdon Park as it is closer to home, so that if anything went wrong with the footage or I had to refilm to get more footage, it is a closer place to access so I would not have to worry about having any continuity issues with the location, having to change it when half of the footage has been filmed elsewhere. I chose this location because it is similar to Henley in Arden as the terrain is almost identical, with large spaces of empty fields and hills.

If this was a new release music video, I would aim for these photos to be uploaded on the announcement of the song and also used as posters to advertise the song in highstreets and walls. I am also using the horizontal picture as the thumbnail for the music video.
