This is a photo of me and my parents. I share so many different traits with both of them. I get my light eyes from my mom. She has blue eyes but my dad has brown so the lightness of my eyes comes from my mom. My dad and I have very similar noses. My skin tone comes from my mom. She is Irish and I have that light tone just like her. While I do have a very light complexion, I still have the ability to tan and get color which comes from my dads side because he is Italian. Everyone always says my mom and I look like twins.

Growing up, I was often told I look more like my dad, and as I look at family photos, I can definitely see the resemblance. One of the strongest similarities between my dad and me is our facial structure, particularly the shape of our jawlines and cheeks, along with our noses. The more I look at family photos from his side of the family you can closely see how similar our chins and noses are! We also share a similar eye shape, which is another noticeable feature that seems to be passed down. Even our smiles look alike, showing how inherited traits can influence expressions and facial features.

In this photo of my youngest daughter, Gabi and I, our light hazel eyes reflect a trait we've inherited from our family, showing the science of heredity in action. This is a picture of my brother Anthony and I on Halloween. I don’t think either of us really look like our parents, but we definitely look similar. We have the same eye shape, nose, teeth shape, and we both have curly hair. Both of our hair colors used to be dirty blonde, but as we got older they darkened a lot. I do share the same blue eyes with our dad and Anthony shares the same green eyes with our mom. I think genetics is such a fun topic to learn about!

This is my parents and I.

Most of my friends and others say my smile resembles my mom's, but I do not see it (not that bad). I do see how my nose is like my dad's. So are my brown eyes. Since I have a different physical appearance, it makes it hard to see what resembles my parents and me. I am better at seeing where I got my beautiful genes though!

This is a photo of my family, yes I know, we're a large family! I am the 6th of 7 children, consisting of 6 girls, and 1 boy. I the youngest girl (bottom left corner) share many physical traits with my family. We are Polish, pale, and skinny. I got my piercing blue eyes from my father, and most of his physical traits come from him. As I've been growing up, people say I look like my dad, which I'm happy about because I love my dad (mom too ofc :)). Today, I definitely have grown into my face shape, with a strong jaw line, button nose, freckles, and full smile, I resemble my father. I really like this post to be able to show where I got my looks/traits from!!!!

Pictured above are some photo booth pictures of me and my mom. We were at a friend's wedding so excuse the props hahaha. Growing up, I was often told that I look like my mom. Even now, people say the same thing when they see the two of us, or when I meet a friend of my mom. When I was younger, I never could see it and didn't know what people were thinking. Now, I totally see our "shared" features. I think our nose shape is similar and our smiles look alike as well. We also tend to make the same facial expressions and even talk the same at moments, which can be very funny. I am lucky she passed her features onto me!

This is my wedding photo that was recently taken with my dad and I. Every person I’ve met has told me I am my dad in female form. One of the most common features my dad and I share is eyes, nose, and height. My dad is 6’2” and my mom is only 5’1. I sit in the middle at 5’6 so I definitely get my height from my dad. My nose and eyes resemble the same shape as my dad as well as the color of my eyes which is brown. I didn’t realize until I was older how much I resemble my dad and not my mom. The genetic traits that my mom carried for 9 months to only come out looking like my dad is crazy to me! I love figuring out how genetics works!

On my mom's side I have seen her relatives who have dimples on both cheeks. For me it's noticeable when I am laughing or smiling. I have 5 siblings that are a little bit noticeable while others don't have it. Everyone I know has said I look like my mother. When I look closer I would say my eyebrows are high arched on one side while the other is low. I would say the low arched eyebrow is from my dad. There are some similarities like my smile is the same as my parents. As siblings we are always trying to identify parents features that could have been passed down to. My sister has always said that my nose is perfect, looking at the picture I would say it's from my mom. One difference is that she's older and I am younger; I think that the nose is smaller but it's shape is identical. I am super proud to be part of my family's genetic traits.

Growing up, when I was younger especially, everyone had different opinions on who I looked like. Honestly I don't think I look that much like either parent but as I've gotten older and started to look more like an adult, more people are saying I look like my mom. I honestly think it's because I have so many personality traits from her that they get mixed up thinking I look like her because I act like her! I do see some similarities between us like our smiles are similar and we both have the same smile lines and dimples. In this picture a lot of people said we looked alike and I see it a little more in this one than most. Our noses look similar shapes here too. Still, most often I'm told I look like my grandfather and a few of my cousins, but nobody really has decided who I look the most like, but it's always fun to hear what people think!

Since I was a young kid people have always said I look like my mom's mini me, and as I've grown older I am able to see it more. I inherited her hair color, eyes, height, need or glasses, etc. Pretty much everything feature I have is inherited from my moms side over my dad. Something that is further noteworthy is that she inherited most of her notable traits from her mother and her mother before her. I think it's very interesting to think about the matriarchal lineage of our traits and how throughout our family history a lot of the women tend to share similar features and genetics.

This is a picture of myself, my brother, and my two cousins on my mother's side. We look similar (IMO) and share features like our dimples and the way our eyes are set. My brother and I, on the left slide, are half Ashkenazi Jewish, so we have dark brown hair and eyes despite our mother being blonde and blue-eyed because the gene for brown is dominant. My cousins' parents both have blonde hair and blue eyes which are recessive traits. My cousin Emmy has these features, but my cousin Tommy has red hair. Red hair is also a recessive trait, so that means that my aunt and uncle both had that allele.

A lot of people in my family say I look just like my dad. I have the same color eyes. I see a resemblance of him in me. My dad is 5’4 and I’m 5’1 so I definitely have the height from him.

My sister and I were both both with the same mom and dad and we are 18 months apart! My sister and I both look very similar and often get mistaken as twins. Although we are not twins we take on our dads dominant genes. Our mom, who is Irish and German looks nothing like us. She has a whiter complexion, green eyes and light brown hair. Our dad on the other hand is 100% Brazilian and has all dark features. Mila and I both took most of our dads outside traits. Both having dark colored hair, eyes and skin complexion. The only thing I can really say I got from my mothers side was freckles! While I may look mostly like my dad I do have my moms personality. We both have Irish tempers, strong opinions, and like things done a certain way. My sister, Mila, is like my dads personality; She is very mellow, go-with-the-flow type of attitude. This photo was after my highschool graduation and as you can see my Mom and Dad have brown eyes and brown hair, which I have too. We all have the same noses and eyebrows. Lastly, we have similar chins and facial structures including our cheeks and teeth.

This is a picture of myself and my son this past August and we went to the Disney for his birthday. In my opinion I don’t think we look alike since he has blonde hair and green/hazel eyes( can’t tell in this photo.

). I on the contrary have brown eyes and dark hair. We both do have dimples in which the left one is more prominent than the other. Another feature that I think resembles me is his smile. We also both have the same curl pattern. It’s just so fascinating how similar we are yet so different.

This is my dad, sister and I. Although I along with many people we know don't think my sister and I look alike, I think my dad and I look very similar. We have the same eyes and nose... especially when we smile! I think the only thing that my sister and I share is my dads smile. They both have brown eyes along with most people in my family. I am the odd one out and I have blue eyes.

This is a photo of my mom and I. In terms of personality traits, we are almost identical! Our shared physical traits are not always quite so obvious. We share the same smile lines, and when I smile with my teeth my eyes get squinty just like hers:) Although they are very faint, especially in the winter, I also have some freckles on my cheeks like my mom. When my hair is not braided, you can sometimes see red highlights throughout my hair that I get from her as well.
