The word courageous was chosen because Mibs was not afraid to travel to unfamiliar places to get to her father.  She was determined not to let anything get in her way.  In the end, Mibs realized that she could communicate with people if they had an ink spot on their body such as a tattoo.   Mib’s savvy of communication, lead to happiness because she woke her father from his coma by communicating with him through the mermaid tattoo on his right arm.  Mibs told her father that his savvy was he never gives up.   Mibs thought back to how her father never gave up on getting her mother to agree to marry him and how determined he was on getting the best special-occasion dress for Mibs.  

 

  This is my first experience with reading this type of book.  The book was interesting because it was about children having supernatural powers.  I would like to have super or magical powers myself someday.  I would recommend this book to another student because it grabbed my attention and kept it throughout the whole book.  I would give this book a thumbs up because it had memorable characters and a wonderful story line.  The book was also packed with adventure and travel.
