I’m especially interested in your thoughts on how grammar-focused classes shaped your learning. If you could change something about your junior high and high school English classes, what would it be? How do you think you could help students use the language more? I am aware that it might sound overwhelming right now you are yet to come here to learn how to teach, but having something in mind is a great quality to become a good teacher.

Your decision to work at a cram school while studying is really inspiring, too. What kind of teaching experience do you expect to have? Have you ever gone a cram school yourself, and how did it influence you?

That is indeed a very good point Chiki. I love grammar and exercises, but they tend to occupy a little too much time in English education in Japan. Without grammar or vocabulary, nothing is possible for sure, but as you pointed out in your reply, it is essential to exert your language based on a variety of activities. The question is, how you blend grammar explanations (and exercises) and activities in class, because you simply do not have infinite time in class. What do you think?
