"i prefer keeping in mind even the possibility that existence has it's own reason for being"- Shows religious beliefs because in Catholicism it is believed that God created all living for a purpose
"i prefer the time of insects to the time of stars" shows how she appreciates God's creations and all living things versus stars which have always been around
