The KKK believed their country was in danger and under attack. So they targeted anyone who was un-American. This included people who were Catholic, Jewish, African America, or immigrants. The KKK truly believed that they were fighting for Americanism.

Women started to become known as Flappers, which are women who wore shorter ans sexier clothes and smoked and drank in public. In the 1920's there were a lot of gangsters, homicides and rising violence. All of this was the result of the 18th Amendment, which prohibited the making, selling, drinking and owning of any and all alcohol beverages. Since this was put into action it created a lot of businesses that made and sold alcohol after hours.

Fundamentalism, Scopes Trial

John T. Scopes was brought to trial because there was a law that stated you could not teach the theories of evolution. Many Americans were scared that this would bring up the true values of Gods beliefs. On the same note, fundamentalism was a religious the God created nature and not evolution.

Model T and Other Automobiles, Social Impact

The mass production of automobiles allowed families to go on longer journeys. It also allowed teenagers to get away with their dates changing relationships in a good way.

Black Nationalism was African Americans pride in their culture. Some supporters wanted to be separated from the whites society, including its leader Marcus Garvey. Garvey founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association which eventually failed. However, he did still manage to influence Americans society by putting pride into African Americans.
