A nation that was autonomous and independent was founded on September 7, 1822. Brazil's legacy of freedom may still be evident in antique buildings, centuries-old churches, and natural landscapes 200 years after this significant date in its history. The Brazilian Royal Road, or Estrada Real, preserves the recollections of the most significant occasions from the previous two centuries. The Freedom Route, also known as Via Liberdade, exhibits a harmony between the celebration of the past and a hint of what lies ahead. The bicentennial of Brazilian Independence Day brings history and tourism together!
