By doing this Hyperdoc, I learned much about Chinese being discriminated against during the 1800s-1900s. I learned that when Chinese immigrated to America, they were seen as aliens, and many people had xenophobia, or the fear of immigrants. I learned that the Chinese Exclusion Act, that began in 1882, had a quota of 105, which meant only 105 Chinese people were let into the U.S. per year. Finally, I learned that before the Chinese Exclusion Act, there had never been U.S. documentation defining who is and isn't allowed to come into The Unites States.
