         <description><![CDATA[<p>The&nbsp;process&nbsp;of&nbsp;applying&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;from&nbsp;one&nbsp;context&nbsp;to&nbsp;another&nbsp;is&nbsp;known&nbsp;as&nbsp;"learning&nbsp;transfer&nbsp;theory." It&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;capacity&nbsp;to&nbsp;apply&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;or&nbsp;abilities&nbsp;gained&nbsp;in&nbsp;one&nbsp;circumstance&nbsp;to&nbsp;another. Learning&nbsp;transfer&nbsp;can&nbsp;be&nbsp;divided&nbsp;into&nbsp;three&nbsp;categories:&nbsp;backward,&nbsp;lateral,&nbsp;and&nbsp;vertical. </p><p>Vertical&nbsp;transfer&nbsp;is&nbsp;the&nbsp;process&nbsp;of&nbsp;applyinginformation&nbsp;or&nbsp;abilities&nbsp;from&nbsp;one&nbsp;learning&nbsp;level&nbsp;to&nbsp;another. Applying&nbsp;knowledge&nbsp;or&nbsp;abilities&nbsp;from&nbsp;one&nbsp;context&nbsp;to&nbsp;another&nbsp;is&nbsp;known&nbsp;as&nbsp;lateral&nbsp;transfer. The&nbsp;learner's&nbsp;motivation,&nbsp;the&nbsp;resources&nbsp;and&nbsp;support&nbsp;available&nbsp;for&nbsp;transfer,&nbsp;the&nbsp;chance&nbsp;for&nbsp;practice&nbsp;and&nbsp;feedback,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;similarity&nbsp;between&nbsp;the&nbsp;learning&nbsp;and&nbsp;transfer&nbsp;settings&nbsp;are&nbsp;all&nbsp;factors&nbsp;that&nbsp;affect&nbsp;learning&nbsp;transfer</p>]]></description>
