Over half of Australia's land is used for farming. (Australian Agriculture, n.d.) Farming played a significant role in my family. Learning and experiencing all about the advantages of living on a farm while growing up as a young child. Additionally, it enabled us to cultivate and produce our food, including fresh berries from our garden, milk from the cows, and meat from the paddocks. This made it possible for us to consume a diet rich in fresh, healthy produce and ensured that all of our nutritional needs were satisfied per the Australian nutritional Guidelines.

(How to Make Fairy Bread (Kid’s Party Treat), 2020) From when I was a young child until today, having fairy bread as a snack is such a delicious and exciting thing to have. Fairy Bread was one of my top favourites at parties.

There are several ways to camp, some being caravans or tents. Free or extremely affordable campsites are almost always available. (Graf, 2018) My family and I went camping at Wave Rock, a famous sight in Hyden, Western Australia. It is a granite cliff that is 110 metres long and 15 metres high, and it is distinguished by the distinctive shape of a big wave. The campsite immediately next to the rock is where my family and I were fortunate enough to set up camp in our caravan. Hiking up to the rock and exploring its flat top while taking in the breathtaking views of the Australian landscape from there were both incredible experiences.

It gained popularity in Australia in the 1980s and is typically performed at social gatherings, community events, and schools. At The Big Red Bash in Queensland in July 2022, 4048 people came together to break the previous Guinness World Record for the greatest number of people performing the Nutbush simultaneously. (Ward, 2018) My grandmother's favourite dance is the Nutbush, and she will still stand up and perform it no matter what. My entire family may be seen doing the Nutbush at every formal event with a dance floor.

Burkina Faso is a landlocked country situated in West Africa. As a result of the country’s first coup the army took over the country, resulting in their military leader being deposed and the army captain taking charge resulting in dissolving the transitional government and suspending the constitution. Thousands have been killed due to the conflict from neighbouring country Mali. There are constant attacks across Burkina Faso including armed violence, kidnapping and death. (Conflict in Burkina Faso, n.d.) According to the Australian refugee health practice guide, three common health concerns listed that are likely to be present in people arriving from Burkina Faso are Hepatitis C, Malaria and Schistosomiasis. (Victorian Foundation of Survivors of Torture Inc, 2018)

Hepatitis C:
Hepatitis C is a viral infection that affects the liver, it is spread through contact with infected blood. It can be either short-term or long-term. (World Health Organisation, 2022)
One treatment available to refugees from Burkina Faso who have tested positive for Hepatitis C is a 12-week course of all oral combination therapy which has few adverse effects. (Victorian Foundation of Survivors of Torture Inc, 2018)

Malaria:
Malaria is a mosquito-spread parasitic protozoal infection caused by the genus Plasmodium. One treatment available to refugees from Burkina Faso who have tested positive for Malaria is if the positive result is detected on the pre-departure screening test they are treated with a three-day course of artemisinin-based combination therapy before departure. (Victorian Foundation of Survivors of Torture Inc, 2018)

Schistosomiasis:
Schistosomiasis is a chronic parasitic infection caused by flukes of the genus Schistosoma which is acquired through contact with infective cercariae in fresh water. One treatment available to refugees from Burkina Faso who have tested positive for Schistosomiasis is taking Praziquantel 20mg/kg and then another dose 4-6 hours later after food.
