Britain got to India by large boats after seeing the potential in India, huge trades would happen between the countries including tea, spices, silk, human resources and raw materials. Britain also knew that it would be an easy target as the Mughal empire had been defeated so armies would be weak and wouldn't be able to fight against the British. The men in charge were John Watts and George White. Various rich businessmen founded the East India Company, but because of a massive rebellion in 1857 (which was defeated), Britain took direct control of the East India Company and a viceroy was then put in charge of the India by the queen herself.

Britain brought better education as they built many schools. They built 50,000 miles of roadways for them and improved infrastructure (they built police stations and many hospitals). They also built huge railroad networks and built multiple dams and dug out nearly 70,000 miles of canals to prevent further floods to areas that were heavily affected by floods. Britain also brought culture, religion and traditions which were forced upon the people of India. India benefited from a lot of these things but some caused rioting (the traditions).

Mohammad Ali Jinnah thought that unity between Hindus and Muslims were impossible because- and looking at the points in his speech- he believed that everything pulled the two religions communities apart. There were no inter-marriages between the people of the two different religions. They didn’t have any similarities between Hindus and Muslims; they didn’t have the same god/gods, they worshipped opposite ideals and had different ideals they wished to follow. They thought that eachothers religions and ideals were nonsense.
The only thing that- Mohammad Ali Jinnah reckons- they have in common would be British rule and their desire to be free of the British Empires ruling.
