Selena is very aware of the majority of her fans being teenage girls, and she wants to be able to act as a good role model in showcasing that people go through things and its okay to be emotional about them, simultaneously she reassures them and shows them that everything will always turn out okay through her own story. I believe this is an extremely important point to make. I find it vital to state that a lot of this may have had to do with her star image and social media presence. Of course her huge fanbase accumulated over the years most definitely played a factor in this, I think it is also due to the fact that over the years she has never been involved in any major scandals as she herself has worked extremely hard to maintain her proper (to an extent) genuine and kind image.
