Students were exposed to the history around the Haudenosaunee (sp?) Confederacy through story telling. The students were also taught the woodland style of art and they were challenged to take their understanding of the history/story and portray it in their art. All students shared their thinking and we voted on pieces to be included in the mural. All students worked on the mural. Students were also exposed to other elements of indigenous culture and at the end we had a gratitude sharing circle.
