Brown V. Board of Education 1954

In 1954 the Supreme court ruled unanimously in favor of Brown of which they said that schools can not be separated even equal in quality as it violated the 14th amendment. It contributed to the Civil Rights Movement as it desegregated schools.

Montgomery Bus Boycott 1955-1956

The boycott was caused because Rosa Parks an influential figure was arrested for not giving up her sit to a white person which led to the boycott which was held from the Monday after she was arrested. It continued until December 20, 1956 when Browder v. Gayle which ruled segregation in busses unconstitutional leading to the end of the boycott. The event was important as it ended segregation on busses helping the civil rights movement

March on Washington 1963

The march on Washington was a time in 1963 where around 250,000 peacefully marched on Washington and many people spoke and most famously where Martin Luther King Jr gave the "I have a dream speech". It also disallowed segregation based on race, relgion and color. It was very important as it symbolized the accomplishment of the movement leading to this.
