For example, when the USS Arizona was bombed in the Pearl Harbor attack, the ship had just been refueled the previous day. The bombs created terrible fires that spread across the ship. As everyone knows, the ship eventually sank but that made the clean up process harder.

Since the ship sank, oil was everywhere which was known as the black tears of the ship. In the 1990s, concerns about the pollution arose. Having oil in the ocean is not good for the environment or the sea life.
