This photo shows the fibrous texture of the stiff wood contrasting with the free flowing form of the leaves. Because this photo has a narrow depth of field, it creates a focal point on the very tip of the wood where the use of paint begins. I appreciate this piece due to the variety of color, texture, and form.

By stacking the rocks in such a way,

I was able to create an unusual 

subject making the photo more interesting. 

I used a contrast of the soft 

appearing ground, and the porous 

texture of the rocks. Personally,

I enjoy the subject I chose and  

think this piece is both simple yet

satisfying to look at.

This perspective is very intresting to look at.

You can really see how the rocks are stacked 

and their forms. This photo is a little above center,

However it is the only subject in the photo 

so i think it works well. I believe it has the right exposure and white balance and i’m pleased with how it came out.

To get this shot was a little difficult, 

seeing that the rocks were ground 

level and there was no way for me to

get underneath. However, you are still able to 

tell that this is intended to be viewed from beneath.

For the most part, I am content with this piece.

The composition is nicely organized and the position 

of the rocks creates a sense of controlled chaos

which is what I love about this piece and its organization.

Although taken slightly above, this photo 

is angled towards downward and to the left.

Because this was my custom angle, there

was some trouble picking an angle being that you can only do so many when the subject is so close to the ground. A narrow depth of field helped the rocks really stand out against the textured, dull colored background. I like the angle of the photo and i think its easy to look at and enjoy.
