Scarlett Johansson is a very famous actress, who has played in many movies and is loved by a big community, but she has in fact done a lot of whitewashing too. In “Ghost in the shell” from 2016, she plays a character that was, in the serie it was inspired from, japanese.    
There are countless other actors that have done whitewashing before, you have Matt Damon,  Emma Stone and even Johnny Depp, Hollywood is full of it ! The reason this is happening is again because of white supremacy, film directors prefer to have, in their movie, white actors that everybody knows instead of an asian or black actor that is less famous. The worst part behind all of this, is that most people aren’t even aware of this problem because if they see a famous actor on an ad for a movie, they will be more likely to go because if that actor is famous, then he probably is good too.
