Reflection of the text "Formal, non-formal and informal learning"

In the text "Formal, non formal and informal learning", the Council of Europe aims to distinguish the terms: formal, non-formal and informal learning. Formal learning takes place in a context of formal education. Non-formal learning occurs outside formal learning environments (eg, swimming lessons). However, informal learning arises from the student's involvement in activities that are not carried out for the purpose of learning. Nowadays, we can say that we do not only learn in schools. Information and knowledge are all around us, on computers, books, television, etc. The school is a huge source of learning, but it is not the only one. In my case, throughout my life, I took swimming, ballet and English classes. In these classes I did not learn mathematics or physics, however, I learned to work in group / team, to respect others, to train and study to get the best results, etc. These are learnings that have been, and still are, important and that have made my formal learning easier.

Reflection about PLN

After taking the readings requested, I learned that PLN is a personal learning network where people, through social networks and technologies, communicate, exchange experiences and share resources with colleagues from all over the world. Until this moment, I did not know the PLN, having no PLN. When I have doubts and / or difficulties in my practice, I talk to my colleagues and my teachers. In my case, the exchange of experiences, doubts and resources is done with my colleagues and teachers. However, the exchange of information, with people outside my context and my school, in my view is an asset because, they have experiences diferenyes of mine, being the exchange very important and interesting for our training and professional practice.

Reflection about Twitter

Until now, I had no twitter account, nor knew very well the same. I have always used some social networks, such as facebook and instagram, however, I never had twitter account because I did not have many friends on twitter. For this mooc, I created a twitter account and until now, I believe that this social network can really be important for my professional training, because when following several professionals and colleagues in my area of training, I am learning from them. Twitter gives us the possibility to exchange experiences and resources with colleagues from all over the world, being a plus for my training and professional practice. There are other social networks where we can also learn, such as facebook, however, I think that the more resources we have, the better our learning.

Reflection about classroom setup

I am not yet a teacher, however, in my stages, I have already realized the importance of classroom organization. A room with the tables all straight, one behind the other, already belongs to the past. Nowadays, teachers are increasingly betting on different organizations in the classroom, according to the characteristics of their students and the classes they will give. In my last stage, I reflected a lot on this subject. I changed the organization of the classroom several times, according to the characteristics / needs of my students, as well as the activities that I was going to carry out. The room can help improve student learning by adapting and modifying to the needs of the students and the teacher. The classroom can not be a static site. My room was always changing, and so, in my opinion, a room of the future should be.

Reflection about the etwinning project

I've never been part of any project like this, I did not even know the existence of it. However, for me, the existence of such initiatives is of utmost importance to students. The fact that students have the opportunity to communicate with students from other schools and even from other countries makes learning them much more interesting and fun. Students become much more motivated to learn and do so much more. As noted in the etwinning video, this type of project not only promotes friendship among children but also promotes understanding and respect for people from different countries and cultures. If we want to end racism and encourage respect for others, it is through dialogue and interaction with people from different cultures that we will succeed. A school does not have to be an enclosed space within its four walls. And, one way of not being it is through technologies and the internet. For me, such projects are of the utmost importance and should exist in all schools, because students not only learn what is proposed by the curriculum, but also learn several values that are so important for their future lives .

It is very important to choose diversified resources and tasks for our classes. Always using the school book makes school routine and uninteresting. The school book is very important, especially for the teacher, because it guides their practice, however, should not be the only resource to use. In this application we have some very interesting videos on various themes that are organized by different areas. In my case, I chose the area of science, as it is an area that I like and I saw a video about the calassification of living things. I found the video very interesting, because it explains not only the reason to classify living beings as well, as it does this classification. It is a very appealing video, just like others I have seen, with a simple and clear explanation. I think that viewing this video in a class would be an interesting way to introduce this theme to a class. The only drawback is being in English and not having subtitles ...

https://www.tes.com/lessons/K3mJv5vAEqtshg/classification

This course is based on the Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE), which is something I do not know and, as such, would be a good opportunity to learn and learn. According to what I read about this course, this system (IBSE) allows students to control their own learning process and acquire knowledge in a more interactive way. It will also provide course participants with a set of skills and resources to use with their students. Therefore, I think this course is very interesting and can be a great source of knowledge and learning, helping the teacher in his training and professional practice.
