I infer that Arthur did get convicted and will be spending the rest of his life in jail or something close to that. I infer that Erik continued to keep up his attitude. I infer that Paul finished the year off at the school he was going to go to at the end of the book and then switch back to Tangerine. I infer that Tangerine middle won the middle school championship the next year.

Paul can connect to the world because there are a lot of people with older siblings that are jerks to them and don't give them any respect. Paul can connect to Benji in Rivals because he is not a star but he steps up when his team needs him most.

pgs. 100-280

Author's Writing style/craft

The author's writing style/craft in Tangerine is he is down and sad at the start but at the end of the book it is upbeat. I think this is the case because the main character Paul does not want to move at the start of the book when he does move so he is not happy and sad but as the book progresses he gets more comfortable with his new life and by the end of the book he is happy and upbeat.

pgs. 1-294

The plot development/ events of Tangerine is first Mike Costello dies causing Paul to become suspicious of his brother and his friend. One day Paul invites one of his friends, Victor over to hang out and Paul's older brother mocks Victor which agitates Victor causing him to fight Paul's older brother and lose.
The theme of the book

The theme of Tangerine is that karma goes around. I think this is the theme of the book because Paul's older brother is a jerk and caused Erik's eye issues but still is a football star and living the life but by the end of the book he finally gets what he deserves. Paul on the other hand is very unfortunate at the start of the book but by the end of the book his luck turns for him. For example, Paul has an eye issue that caused him to go blind at a young age and is always unfortunate but by the end of the book he won a middle school soccer championship and has lots of good friends.

pgs. 1-294

The passages that help me create a mental image in Tangerine are the scenes where they move into their new house in Lake Windsor Downs because I can imagine that their neighborhood is all model homes like where I used to live. I can also imagine the scene where Erik goes to Lake Windsor Middle School and the other team misses the game winning penalty kick on the final play of the game that wins the championship because I can imagine the field where the game is played, and I can imagine it is like Evergreen Middle School's upper field.

pgs. 20-40, 100-220
