I would say that I am somewhat interested because I will not be able to vote when the election is going to be happening. But I still pay attention so I can understand better next time vote. I would vote for Donald Trump. I went to his speech when he came to Springfield and he said that he would keep the second amendment alive and not make it go away like some people want. He wouldn't limit the control on guns anymore. He also said some things about the illegal immigrants that made sense. Another thing that he said is that he would try to make jobs and companies come back to the US instead of having them go overseas.

I learned that the first two women on the supreme court were Ruth Ginsburg and Sandra O'Connor. They were not friends in real life but were allies when it came to politics. One grew up on the East coast while the other grew up on a western ranch. They both graduated at the top of their class.

I thought that my favorite way to understand the declaration was to watch the movie and the video. This gave a visual way to learn and understand what happened rather than trying to imagine what happened based on what you read.

My favorite part of the Declaration of Independence is the part where they talk about people being born with certain rights. The rights that everybody has and should be respected. The right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I do support making an Amendment that would make burning the American flag unconstitutional. I think that this is the ultimate way a person can show disrespect towards the United States. This way, people who burn the flag will have consequences for their actions. This is the only version of free speech that shouldn't be allowed.

Mr. Smith

Mr. Smith was a leader of a boyscouts organization and he was selected to be a Senator because of his lack of knowledge in politics. Little did people know, but he wrote a bill to make a camp for boys all across the country. Mr.Smith chose a location that was going to be used to build a dam. This ruined the plan for Mr. Taylor and his associates. Mr. Smith is set up so that it looks like he wanted this camp placed for his own profit which almost gets him voted out of the Senate. He then takes the Senate floor for 23 hours straight, until he passes out. This is when Mr. Paine tells the truth about everything and clears Jefferson Smith's name.

I think that Jefferson Smith belonged to the Republican Party. The movie doesn't give us an answer to which party he belonged to. The movie also didn't give many clues on which one he belonged to. This is because this movie dealt with only one issue which was putting in a boys camp instead of putting up a dam. Today, I think he would still belong to the Republican party, I believe he would hold similar values to a republican in politics. I think he would have stopped in politics after this because he would want to either help more with the boys camp or try and set up more.

I would compare Mr. Smith to Adam Kinzinger. This is because they are both Republicans and they are both relatively young in the Congress. Most people who are in the Senate or Congress are much older than they are. They both seem to care about other people and just want whats best for everybody. They both stand for what they believe in and voice their opinion. Some differences are that they are both from different time periods. Mr. Smith also had the floor for 23 hours straight and Adam Kinzinger has never done this. Adam Kinzinger is representing Illinois and the movie never describes what state Mr. Smith represents.
