The Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels, the Pyestang La Naval, and the Pyestang Apung Mamacalulu, which will be celebrated this coming October 25 in Angeles City, make October a memorable month for the city. Apu is more well-known among Angelenos as a bargain hunter. This is due to the fact that on Fridays, booths are set up close to the Apung Mamacalulu Shrine (Merciful Lord), where a variety of goods, including garments, curtains, kitchen utensils, and more, are sold.

Even though this may be the case, thousands of followers continue to visit the shrine in Lourdes Sur, Angeles City on Fridays to pray and attend mass. Since that Christ was crucified and subsequently raised, devotees see this dead depiction of him as a sign of hope.

https://angelescity.ph/event/pyestang-apu-mamacalulu/

Nuestra Señora del Santisimo Rosario de Angeles and Apung Mamacalulu, the local devotion to Santo Angel Custodio is one of the most cherished and honored in Angeles City. The month-long celebration of fiestas in Angeles City begins on October 2 with the feast of Santo Angel Custodio, which is observed in remembrance of the city's three patrons and defenders.

The most renowned and unique representation of the Holy Guardian Angel in the Philippines is Santo Angel Custodio, who serves as Angeles City's official patron. With his right arm extending aloft and his eyes fixed on the kid or pilgrim, the Holy Guardian Angel is depicted leading a young child. This creates the idea that the angel is assisting the child or pilgrim on his or her earthly pilgrimage.

In 2012, Holy Angel University collaborated with Holy Rosary Parish (also known locally as "Pasimbang Maragul") to stage the inaugural "Angelic Procession," which is a major celebration of the "Fiestang Angel" in the city. The image was followed by schoolchildren in a procession around the town center costumed as miniature angles. The goal of the children's angelic procession is to acquaint them with the long-standing devotion to the Holy Guardian Angels.

Reference and Photo Credits:

https://pintakasiph.wordpress.com/2019/10/09/santo-angel-custodio-the-angelic-titular-patron-of-angeles-city-pampanga/#:~:text=The%20feast%20of%20Santo%20Angel,city's%20three%20patrons%20and%20protectors

Philippine International Clark Hot Air Balloon Festival

Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival. It is a yearly celebration that takes place at Clark Freeport Zone in January and February. Hot air balloons of various colors soar around and through the Field as part of the celebration. But not only hot air balloons were showcase in this event. There are also fun activities like paragliding, sky diving, kite flying, and there were even stalls inside the zone to keep the people entertained and to have fun without spending too much money. There were also mini concerts held in the past events!
It all started in 1994 when, Mina Gabor, who was the tourism secretary at the time, and three of her friends, one of whom was a hot air balloon pilot, planned to hold a festival before it ever became the biggest sporting event in the nation. The hot air balloon festival seeks to revitalize Pampanga’s economy three years after the catastrophic destruction caused by Mt. Pinatubo’s eruption. With its continuous success our neighboring countries sees its beauty and finally decided to make one for themselves as well. It became a big event to celebrate later on.
The hot air balloon festival grew dramatically between 1996 and 1998, not only in terms of participants and spectators, but also in terms of the events involved. Paragliding, skydiving, motorized hang gliding, and kite flying were also introduced. The Philippine Air Force’s aerobatic stunts are another regular attraction. With food booths and family-friendly entertainment, visitors may meander around a carnival-like scene. The Fly Market sells mementos and unusual items related to aviation, and on the weekends, a magnificent hot air balloon nightglow and fireworks display will round out the festivities. There is also First Class Ticket that offers an all-access pass to the event, including meals, private viewing places, entrance to the aviation seminars, and access to the air-conditioned bazaar, so those who want to enjoy the carnival in comfort can choose to purchase it.
From 2004 to the present, the hot air balloon festival has attracted over 50,000 visitors from around the world. Participants come from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and various Asian countries.
With its one of a kind celebration, not only domestic tourists are eager to visit and experience the festival but also people internationally are together with us. Philippine Hot Air Balloon Festival is truly a vibrant festival to look forward to!

Sources:

https://www.alviera.ph/news/hot-air-balloon-festival/

https://www.rappler.com/life-and-style/travel/clark-hot-air-balloon-festival-june-2022/

https://outoftownblog.com/philippine-international-hot-air-balloon-fiesta-2020/
