I spent the majority of my childhood in Pinehurst, North Carolina. It is a small town that is notorious as a premier golf destination. Although I never play golf, you can't escape it living here. There is actually 1 golf course. There are over 40 golf courses, nearly 3 per square mile of the town. Thanks to the efforts of James W. Tufts. Tufts, a Boston philanthropist, Pinehurst began to gain recognition in the early 20th century envisioned as a health resort and residential community. Before Tufts, European settlers, primarily of Scottish and English descent, began to encroach upon the land inhabited by the indigenous peoples. The area was originally inhabited by various indigenous peoples, including the Tuscarora and Saponi tribes, who were part of the larger Siouan language family. These peoples were subject to removal policies, such as the Indian Removal Act of 1830, which led to the infamous Trail of Tears.

I spent 8 years of my childhood growing up in San Antonio. The hot summers, and not so cold winters, were spent outside with my friends and also inside shading from the scorching sun.T he region was initially inhabited by various Native American groups, including the Coahuiltecan and Payaya peoples. These indigenous communities had established themselves along the San Antonio River for centuries. One of the most well-known missions in San Antonio is the Alamo, originally known as Mission San Antonio de Padua. The Alamo played a crucial role in the Texas Revolution in 1836. Now it is a vibrant and culturally rich city with a mix of historical charm and modern aspects.

Puerto Rico is a big part of my heritage. My mom was born here, as well as all 7 of my aunts and uncles. I have visited Puerto Rico many times through my life, and each time I am drawn closer to the culture and people. The Taíno culture was dominant in the Caribbean, including Puerto Rico, and they had a significant impact on the island's early history, before the arrival of Christopher Columbus. They were also skilled potters, weavers, and carvers, creating intricate artifacts and art.
