How to Take Care of Your Well-Being

There are five steps to keeping care of your well-being.
1. Connect
Connecting with other people around you, family, friends and colleagues, will allow you to develop these relationships and this will give you a wider area to take care of your well-being.
2. Be Active
Exercise helps you to relax and forget about what problems you are facing at the moment. You don't have to go the gym, either. You can take a walk, go cycling or play a sport. If you find an activity that you like, you should stick with it.
3. Keep Learning
Learning new skills and such can give you a sense of achievement and confidence. For example, you could try to cook or find a musical instrument that you can and will enjoy playing.
4. Give to Others
Making other people happy can make you feel good about yourself, even if it's just a simple smile, a "thank you", or a kind word. Bigger acts such as volunteering for something cam improve your mental well-being also.
5. Be Mindful
Be more aware of the present, where you are, your thoughts, feelings, and the world around you. Some call this 'Mindfulness' and it can positively change the way you feel about life and how you approach challenges

Technology can be used to improve your mental health by using apps or devices, for example.

Pacifica is an app that can help users combat their anxiety using cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation and real results. It aims to break unhealthy thought-feeling-action through engaging users with relaxation tips and goal setting.

Spire is a wearable device that can detect your emotions to prevent unhealthy thoughts. It focuses on breathing patterns and other physiological signs to read how the user is feeling. Once it detects anything, it sends a notification to your phone recommending how you can relax, or other wellness tips to improve how you are feeling. Clip it to your belt or bra and it will decrease stress levels by up to 50%.
