The story line begins in the perspective of a teenage girl who is trying to find her real identity. She's is an English girl that moved to Belgium but does not understand why she needs a new last name. She tries to find out the truth about her family but cannot tie the clues altogether. Until one day she does.  After reading this book, it has helped me realize that, as a teenager, we can sometimes question our identities. This book has somehow showed me finding your true identity, but not really. So, I give this book 3 out of 5 stars because it can sometimes be confusing, since the author uses other words that do not relate to the story such as "mom" to "mambo" and "man" to "maniac". Nevertheless, I did enjoy this book. It's a great book that teaches some life lessons. In the book all the teenagers and young adults are divide in two groups called greasers and socs (greasers are middle class people and socs are rich). The main character, Ponyboy Curtis, and his friend Johnny are greasers and they go on one life changing adventure through out  the book.

Then he got caught with them on and got arrested. They had been stolen, he had a choice of going to a camp or jail.................Read it to find out what happens next!!! I enjoyed this book the only thing bad about it is thatit took a while to get to the good part of the book. This was a good book overall, but the theme of the book wasn’t for me. This book was kinda hard to understand at the same time because a lot of different things would be happening all at once. After a while the book gets a little interesting the situations that happen in this book make it intense. There is a lot of conflict between the characters. I recommend this book to anybody who is into drama novels. I had mixed emotions about this book because it was good and bad at the same time, but that’s my opinion and of course people will have different opinions over this book as well. And like I said how it wasn’t my type of book I still would recommend it to other readers.

Only catch is: only three out of the four best friends were in the car.  The main character, Carver Briggs must deal with the loss of his friends and the guilt he feels surrounding his involvement in the car crash.  Throughout the novel, he forms new friendships that help him heal and attempt to move on with his life.  Issues in this book are so timely and relevant to teenagers today; I would high recommend this young adult novel.  It is funny, real, and heartbreaking all at the same time.
