         <description><![CDATA[<div>July 21, 1954 - The Geneva accords divided vietnam in two at the 17th parallel.</div><div><br></div><div>August 5, 1964 - Commanders report North Vietnamese torpedo attacks of U.S. destroyers. Lynden B. Johnson submits the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution to congress. This allows him to take any necessary action to repel armed forces.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>November 15 1969 - Millions of people in the U.S. protest the United State’s involvement in the vietnam war. Antiwar demonstrations are the largest public protests in U.S. history. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>January 27, 1973 - Representatives from North, South, and the U.S. agree to conclude the war. U.S. troops were to be pulled out within 60 days. The 17th parallel remained the dividing line until peaceful reunification could be done.</div><div><br></div><div>March 29, 1973 - The last U.S. forces leave vietnam. The death total is around 3,258,000 people including troops and civilians.</div>]]></description>

The war was very political between the communistic North and South of Vietnam.
