Orthographic: I see this because I give my students letter ID tests throughout the year. Watching their score grow throughout the year shows that they recognize more words.
Meaning: One example that stands out is when we are learning part-part-whole while adding. I repeatedly have to remind my students that it's a whole like a whole pizza, not like a hole in the ground.
Phonological: I see this when students are sounding out words.
Context: This happens a lot when I read aloud and students start to read along with me.

Orthographic: My students use orthographic processing when they are spelling unknown words by trying to identify which letter "makes sense" going after the previous letter.
Meaning: My students use this processor when making connections to a text.
Phonological: My students simply use the phonological process when sounding out unknown words.
Context: My students often use the context process when figuring out unknown words by using the text meaning or pictures.

Orthographic: I see this in the letter sound chants I do at the start of the year or with my lower level readers.
Meaning- The other day while reading about sea horses, we had to discuss the difference between "herd" and "heard"
Phonological: While listening to students read I hear them sound out or chunk words and then fix the sounds when they do not match.
Context- When my students are reading and guess a word based on the surrounding words. For example when reading about baby dinosaurs, they determined the word "hatch" based on the fact that the book mentioned an egg.
-Sarah
