The statue with only the right palm raised (and the left hand resting at the side or in the lap) is known as "Forbidding the Relatives to Fight" (Pang Ham Yat). While its traditional name sounds specific to a historical conflict, its broader meaning of peacemaking and reconciliation is why it is often associated with bringing peace to the home.

More commonly known: Bhumisparsha Mudra (Earth Witness): The most common gesture in Thailand, where the right hand reaches down to touch the earth, symbolizing the moment the Buddha achieved enlightenment and summoned the earth goddess to witness his realisation.

These decorations are not just artistic; they illustrate the 108 auspicious signs (laksanas) that distinguish a true Buddha from an ordinary human being.
