• The Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) is shown as a dove. The Spirit comes down on Jesus and stays with him reflecting the close relationship between Jesus and the Spirit.
• God the Father calls Jesus “my Son, the Beloved.” Showing the Son and the Father as one.
• The Father is unseen but we can hear his Word – the Holy Spirit is the bond of love between the Father and the Son.
• The Baptism marks the beginning of Jesus’ work and teachings and so the Baptism helps to show that all of Jesus’ work and teachings is the work of God.
