In 2018, I traveled to China for the second time to teach nursing. Initially, I thought I had a wealth of information to share with my students. Soon, I learned they taught me more!

Virtual Exchanges

In the heart of the pandemic, I was the Principal Investigator for an IDEAS grant. During this time, I attended a training at the University of Florida and COIL. Using these best practices, I created a robust virtual exchange program at Florida State College at Jacksonville. To date, over 20 virtual exchanges have occurred in the disciplines of nursing, business, languages and information technology.

Using my real world experiences, training in curriculum design and development, I developed five professional development programs on creating virtual exchanges for the Academy of Teaching and Learning at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

In the summer of 2024, I will be creating an International Education Badge for the college, with five additional professional development programs.

Globalizing Courses

In 2019, I was on the development team for the Center for International Education at Florida State College. This began my journey to globalize courses at the college.

During the pandemic, I lead the initiative to globalize the only Bachelor of Science Nursing curriculum in Florida. I hope to help you do the same. Please feel free to contact me for more information.
