I was asked to create a presentation about myself to present to the class to get me used to talking in front of the group. In this presentation I included a short description of who I am and why I chose the course. When presenting to the class I thought I explained my presentation very well, which helped me gain confidence when talking in front of a large group. However I think I could improve by facing the group at all times.

When going for a job interview I put myself in a high pressure situation, where I had to answer unknown questions on the spot. After answering the questions I was given the job and my shift dates, when I need to work.

American Football

I play American Football for Sheffield Giants and Team North, as a Quarterback. In American Football the Quarterback is the most valuable and important role to succeed as an offense. By being a Quarterback I need to communicate with players when telling them what to do, and also the coaches to help discuss with them what is working against the opposition to succeed. When playing against Lincoln their defence played with players down the pitch to prevent deep passes, so I discussed with my coaches to change the game plan and do shorter passes to pull the deep players towards me. By doing this the far end of the pitch opened up more, when this happened my coaches then told me to thrown a deep pass down the field to and open receiver. By doing this we were able to beat Lincoln.

When enrolling at college we did races in wheelchairs to help work as a team. When I was in the wheelchair I was racing against others, and my teammates helped direct me by telling me where to go and how to steer. This enabled me to gain confidence and trust in my teammates.

Football

When I was 11 years old I captained my team, by being a captain you need to be very vocal by encouraging my teammates to win. However even when not being a captain I needed to work with others to score goals and try and win the game. Additionally, when in a tournament it is vital to work together through out to ensure that you maximise your opportunity and beat every team.

Part Time Job

By being a pot washer I need to work together with the other people in the kitchen to maximise the speed of which the plates and cutlery are cleaned, which then allows food to go out into the restaurant. Overall this leads to happy and satisfied customers.
