Industrialization warranted for a switch from farmers and horses/horse-drawn buggies to powered, special-purpose machinery, factories and mass production. The iron, coal, and textile industries, specifically cotton textiles, along with the discovery of the steam engine, played central roles in the Industrial Revolution, which also began improved systems of transportation (cars), communication (telephones and, later, cell phones) and banking (computers and calculators).

The Industrial Revolution contributed directly to global warming. Through the need for faster transport and mass production, global warming skyrocketed. Starting with the steam engine and the burning of fossil fuels through the engines and factories this led to what we know today as global warming.

When machines were invented that meant less job opportunities. With less job opportunities people could be paid with higher wages, however the people whos jobs were taken away were no longer employed.

The Industrial Revolution allowed not only for machinery to take the place of somewhat dangerous jobs, but also made it easier on the other people and their jobs. Material/Goods Deliveries (especially over long distance), for example, were made easier because of the train, which was one big steam engine (a result of the Industrial Revolution) used coal (one of the energy sources that drove the Industrial Revolution) to power itself. It was able to deliver many materials over long distance quicker than in the past. Railroads also helped form cities because it was also used for transportation for people. Not only could you use trains and railroads for material transport, but to move from place to place as well.
