Then he heard it—a rustle of wind accompanied by a swooshing sound coming from the treetops. Then another, from the other direction. They were stirring up a breeze, they were flying so fast, both aiming for the same target....
“Uh-oh,” said Louisa. “I can’t watch....”
I think these paragraphs were very detailed and exciting. Like you have an idea what will happen but something else might happen.

When Clay got close, Eric sidestepped and grabbed him with both hands—and flew. Up, straight up, carrying him high into the night sky, with Clay shouting and cursing all the way.

I used this paragraph only because it was very detailed and good figurative language. For example, Like a bull seeing red, Clay bellowed with rage and charged.

Mollie suspected you didn’t just wake up on your birthday without powers—something had to take them away. And she wasn’t alone in her suspicions. Eric had told her a story once about a couple of Supers who decided to try and save their friend. On the night, before his thirteenth birthday, they stayed over at his house. The plan had been to stay awake with him all night, to keep a watch over him and to keep him safe. But when the three friends emerged from the house the next morning, all three were the same—ordinary. Even though two of the friends were only twelve at the time, they had undergone the same transformation. Because they had tried to save their friend, whatever had taken his powers had also taken theirs.
This paragraph was very interesting and informing. Especially the story that Mollie told to Daniel.

The shape drifted a step closer, and as it did the unnatural cold got worse. The frozen air seemed to emanate from the shadow itself. Daniel did the only thing he could think of, he snapped a picture. The flashbulb exploded and his eyes danced with spots, but for a second at least, the figure paused. It regarded him silently and seemed interested in the camera in his hand. I chose this paragraph because it is very interesting

The cover featured a nighttime scene a sleeping boy next to an open window. Outside the window, Johnny Noble was swooping down from the sky. In the room reaching for the boy’s sleeping form, was a shadow. A shadow that Daniel had seen before. A shadow with a heart of fire. I chose this paragraph because it is very important

Rohan reached into his jacket and pulled out a stack of photographs. They were all the same, just a mass of shadows and blurred images. Whatever that thing was in Simon’s room, it wasn’t easily captured on camera. I chose this paragraph because if those photos would’ve come out well Eric could’ve believed them, but since they didn’t he wouldn’t believe them and just would’ve gotten mad that they risked something like that and put Daniel in danger.

For an instant he couldn’t move , he was trapped in the memory of that night at Simon's window , the terror of falling... Mollie called to him, “Hey did you find anything? Hurry up it's getting freezing out here.” Daniel swallowed his fear and found his voice as the the Shroud reached for Mollie. “Behind you!”
I chose these paragraphs because they were interesting and had some good detail.

“The north face is forbidden. Danger waits there.” The Shroud's voice echoed through the cave like the rustle dead leaves and snapping twigs... or dry bones. The shape that rose up to prevent their was larger than Daniel remembered, its billowing black cloak snuffing out the light of their flashlights, its bulk blocking their path. Wisps of darkness seemed to undulate around its body, and wisps of its green heart of fire pulsed in slow rhythm. I chose this paragraph because it has great detail.

“So I can do this!” Mollie let go of Daniel's arm and flew, straight as an arrow, toward the Shroud. She slammed like a bullet into the chest of the thing. As it turned out, the Shroud was quite solid, because Daniel heard it gasp as it got the wind knocked out of it. Its great swelling blackness crumpled around little Mollie Lee as the two of them tumbled out of the cave's mouth and out of view. I chose this paragraph because this was a cool paragraph.
