I love swimming and I always loved the sport. This connection started when I went to the Olympic games in 2016 with my father. I was so involved watching that that my parents enrolled me into swimming classes the next day. It was something that I literally needed in my life, because I have asthma and it helped me a lot decreasing my crisis. Some years later I decided to go to the next level and join competitions. Although I was a very good swimmer, I always got nervous before the competitions and my coach knew that, so everytime I entered the pool he said to me "Break a leg, Sophia!" to cheer me up, and it worked because once I entered the pool, nothing could stop me.

Recently, my son went through a decisive moment: the final test to get a position at a big company. It was an incredible opportunity, and he was well-prepared, but as a parent, I knew that nervousness was also part of the process.

On the morning of the test, before he left, I looked at him and said with a smile: "Son, break a leg!" He laughed, fully understanding what it meant. Although it’s an expression in English that, literally, seems to wish the opposite, "break a leg" is actually a way of saying "good luck" before an important moment.

The phrase came at just the right time. He walked in with confidence and did his best, knowing that, regardless of the result, he was ready to face the challenge head-on. And now, we just have to wait for the company’s response... but whatever the outcome, I’m already proud of his dedication.Write it here: write something beautiful

My niece, Manu, studies at a school and there is a science fair where the students show their projects, every two months. She loves studying and she is very creative. But she was fricking out before her last competition, saying that her project was not a good one. But then, my mother told her " Break a leg, my dear!" In the end, everyone enjoyed her project and she was one of the best. Manu then smiled at my mother, knowing she had done a good job and was very happy.

It was the afternoon of the big volleyball game at my school, our volleyball team was going to play against another team and the whole school was anxious about this game. My friend Maíra was going to play and I knew she was going to kill it, she is super competitive and she is a great volleyball player. However, she was always a bit superstitious.

Before the game started, I went up to her and said: “You’ve got this, Maíra! We’re going to win. Just go out there and break a leg!” Maíra immediately stopped me from saying anything else and told me: “No, no, don’t say that! We can’t say that we’re going to win. That’s bad luck! You just jinxed me!”

She gave me a nervous look and started warming up. I laughed at her reaction, but superstitions or not, she played like a professional player and we actually won the game. It wasn’t bad luck after all.

Recently my son was having exams at school. He tried really hard but was really scared of the science test. According to him, it was the hardest subject. The day before the test, we studied together and he was nervous. So I told him, "Stay calm and break your leg." In the end, everything went well and he got a great grade.

Every year my EHS team have a presentation based on environmental and safety’s planning. Just before the presentation , I rehearse with them and always say to everyone, break a leg. It seems that everyone feels more confident and the performance is always fantastic.

I am a solution architect and I am a part of a team. Every week we choose projects that we will be working on.

Then, we pick up one by one to brainstorm and decide how to work them out and one of us execute the project.

My team is well balanced, or I thought so. There are architects with lots of experience and some with little.

Last week, a project that I had bad experiences with was chosen and we discussed a lot about that.

Many proposals appeared but mine was rejected because it was very complex. One of the architects whose proposal was accepted received the project to begin.

So, I looked to the other architects and said, "break a leg with this project!"

I have many problems with the Mobility Team of my work, but I have never had one big problem. However, in my Euro Business trip my reservation on Hotel finished one day before my flight back home. I couldn't understand why, and asked the team. The responsible of the process said "Sorry Sir, there was a spelling mistake in your reservation". Ok, I went to reception of the hotel to pay for one more night but the receptionist said "We're very sorry Sir but there aren't any rooms left. And it will be a little difficult for you to find another one now. Anyhow, break a leg." I was very lucky to find a room in a hotel a few blocks away.
