Beginning

We began our mission trip on Saturday at 3 PM, we rode a train from Gambir Station in Jakarta, to Malang Station, the trip took 14 hours, and we arrived at 5 AM in Malang Station. We immediately started by going to the church, we follow the worship and began our volunteer work by dividing into small groups, with each groups serving different age groups, after we finished we had lunch, then we went to make our own batik totebag, after that, we had dinner and a short briefing to prepare the next day.

Day 1

on the first day we went to maranatha church, where we had breakfast and changed our clothes and attended public worship, youth worship, and then children's worship. we also led sessions for children there, then we had lunch together and went to make batik with group 3, after that, we went to the hotel and then we went for dinner.

Day 2

On the second day, we went to Panti Karya Asih, where we had some activities, such as cooking, playing basketball and football, painting gypsum and totebag, then we went to Panti Oikos Shalom, where we played games with the kids there, we played basketball and volleyball with the kids there too.

Day 3

On day 3, we visited Pelita Kasih Middle School, where I served in grade 8, where we had some activities, such as games, science experiment and more. After that, we had lunch, and then we left to make some ceramic and clay craft at Kampung Wisata Keramik Dinoyo with the other group.

Day 5

On the fourth day, which was my most memorable day, we all went to Mount Bromo during the day, where we visited several popular spots on Mount Bromo, such as the savanna, desert, and Bromo Hillside Cafe.

Day 6

On the fifth day, which was the last day of our service, we visited the Panti Werdha Tabur Tuai, where we formed several groups, after that, we ate together with other groups, then we left for Malang station to return to Jakarta.

Mission Trip was one of the things I was very excited for. it was worth all the time to prepare everything. I made lots of friends from different classes. I know that there's a lot of room for improvement and i will prepare better so my next YIM i will be able to do better. Overall, YIM is a wonderful experience for me.

Day 4

we visited SMPK Budi Mulia Lawang, where we were divided into several groups, I was tasked to lead a session in grade 8 with some of my friends, then we made ice cream with the children there, then we revisited SD Pelita Kasih, where i teach in class 5 of elementary school, we led a session on mathematics, English and science experiments, then we went to the YWI orphanage, where we led an activity, namely coloring tote bags.
