Before leaving, create a post here with two notes: (50 w) compose a time-capsule message to yourself at the end of the quarter: what do you expect to learn from this GLE collaboration with Unichristus students speaking English as a global language? (50 w) streamline your reactions/lessons learned from the session with a particular connection to GLE, the course description or outcomes. Provide your name - this exit ticket will help me write out a follow-up email. This exit ticket is graded as "credit/no credit" and as part of participation.

From the GLE collaboration with Unichrustus students speaking English as a global language, I hope to gain a new international perspective, develop an appreciation for a culture greatly removed from my own, and learn about the difficulties and challenges that come along with speaking English as a global language.

Our discussion today in class illuminated the struggles which can frequently arise in the life of individuals who are placed “out of their element,” or are suffering from cultural separation with their greater community—while these struggles are often unpleasant, they can help us to develop a deeper understanding of the interplay between culture, identity, and language. By participating in a Global Learning Experience, I hope to get out of my own element and investigate my status in the global community.

During the GLE collaboration with Unichristus students speaking English as a global language, I hope to understand and think through how they use language throughout their schooling and life. I am also expecting to learn about their culture and how they look at life from a different viewpoint than mine.

I enjoyed the lessons learned today about the emotions people feel when they are out of their space and culture. It was also interesting to see the connections we saw from the case study to that in our own lives. These connections were a way for us to be a better part of the Global Community.

For the GLE collaboration with Unichristus University students speaking English as a global language, I hope to understand the university life from Brazil, and the Brazilian culture, and understand the world from their perspective. I also want to learn about the challenges that come with speaking English as a second language.

I liked the discussions we had, and I liked how we talked about ourselves, which has gotten us to get to know each other. I even liked the mindfulness thing we did almost immediately after starting class. And I liked the case study we learned about, which could allow us to be better inclusive of the Global Community.

Throughout the GLE collaboration with the Brazil students, I am interested to learn how our style of writing differs from how they have been taught. I understand english is an extremely hard language to learn so I am also interested to hear their experience so far with a very open mind.

I enjoyed today's reading in class today as well as the video. As someone who has several family members who can relate to both the reading and video, I think it is extremely important as students to have empathy and patience with the GLE students.

I hope to learn about different lifestyles and traditions that I’m not currently familiar with from the GLE collaboration with Unichritus students.

I enjoyed our discussion in class and getting to know everyone a bit. The article we read was also enjoyable. I’m not someone who’s super involved in their culture, so reading something from the perspective of someone who is was interesting. I’m super excited to meet the other students later on in the course.
