There is a fued going on between both sides of the political spectrum of whether we should place a ban on semi automatic rifles, due to the late outbreaks of mass shootings occuring. Some might say that because there is a maximum capacity of 30 round in the magazine of a common variant of an AR-15, that they think that is an easy task to take out as many people as quick as possible. Some also think that it is the most popular gun used in mass shooting. According to the chart below provided by Statista.com, the most popular gun used in mass shootings between 1982 and 2017 is, in fact, a semi-automatic handgun.

So now that we see that assault rifles are not the leading problem of mass shootings, we tend to next look at the mentality of these shooters. Many mass shootings are committed by radicalists, and or mentally insane people. If we were to accept people and care for others instead of embarassing them, and bullying them, then the amount of these incidents would decline drastically.

Last we have a story of a 17 year old, Austin Wyatt Rollins, who had shot a girl he was in a relationship with and injured another boy. This Maryland high school story was widely ignored and had gone unreported maily due to the fact that the shooter was stopped by an armed guard, often countering the anti-gun movement. The Deputy First Class, Blaine Gaskill had been working as the school's resource officer that day when he had heard the shots. He rushed to the scene and had put an end to Rollins.

From these examples, we can learn that these shooters have mental problems and it can mainly be derived from bullying and harrassment. If we can all make it our goal to make these people feel like they belong, they will not feel the urge to go to school and kil people, causing mass devestation.Placing a ban on guns is not the way to put an end to these shootings , but the solution is rather to help people feel good about themselves instead of ridiculing them for who they are
