         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1839 John D. Rockefeller was born and raised in Ohio. Rockefeller had little education and began working at the age 16. He was an american business magnate and philanthropist. He was a Co-founder of the Standard Oil Company. When Rockefeller almost got on a train that would crash, he felt it was an omen from god that he did not die because he had a purpose, so he then confidently made a good deal with Cornelius Vanderbilt to ship his oil of Vanderbilt's trains.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Christopher Sholes</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Christopher Sholes was born in Pennsylvania in 1819. After moving to Wisconsin in 1837,  he continued his education and he worked his way up to become editor of newspapers in Madison. Sholes developed the first practical typewriter. He changed the layout of the original keyboard, and added a shift button, which allowed the use of lower case and upper case letters. In 1864, he was able to secure his first patent. The company to produce his typewriters was Remington Arms, a gun manufacturing company. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Alexander Graham Bell</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1847, Alexander Graham Bell was born in the United Kingdom. When Alexander was growing up he was a teacher for deaf children by feeling vocal cords. He had created an invention called the Telegraph, and continued to make improvements. Bell's main invention was the telegraph, which allowed people to communicate faster and helped businesses grow. On 1876 at the Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Alexander Graham Bell presented the telephone to the world.</div><div><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Edwin Drake</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Edwin Drake was born in Green County, New York, in 1819.  He has little formal education,  but he left home at the age of 19 with no plan for a career in mind. He became an American businessman and the first American to successfully drill for oil.  He used the steam engine to drill oil and made it practical. Drake never benefited financially from his discovery of oil. </div>]]></description>
