It also explains to the students why it is important to not call out or interrupt people when they are talking. Then after we read it I would often refer to the book and point out when eruptions were happening so the students could begin to see what eruptions really were.]]> 2017-08-23 20:23:51 UTC https://padlet.com/woodringjessica/ntgt53646srl/wish/182441541 woodringjessica https://padlet.com/woodringjessica/ntgt53646srl/wish/182442925 I also implemented a Superhero voice level chart.  My classroom theme is superheros and I found a voice level chart on Teachers Pay Teachers, so when the students are working or I am teaching they know the voice level they should be using.  It worked like a charm! The students responded so well and even began keeping in each other in check about their voice levels.  Once they grew accustom to the chart, before we started a new activity I would ask them which voice level they think would be best for that activity.
