During this time of hunger, the boys stole food and tried whatever they could to get food, so stealing from the little boy didn't seem to bad to them since they were desperate, and watched the little boy enjoy himself to the 2 ears of corn. Ishmael felt bad for chasing this boy and stealing his food, but he couldn't do much since he was desperate and hungry. Even when the little boys mother gave them some corn, the six boys just devoured the food without having any remorse to what they had done.

They were forced to undress and when Ishmael was undressing, his cassettes fell out of his pocket. The village leader asked what they were and Ishmael explained that him, his brother, and friends would rap and dance to the music in talent shows. To show the village leader that he was telling the truth, Ishmael performed OPP for the village.
