One reason why the market revolution had a great impact on the Northeast, the Midwest, and the South was because of the increase in transportation technology. New things such as canals, railroads, and the steam engine connected the country literally through the ease of transportation. With the access to these new forms of transportation the country was brought together in harmony better than ever before via trade and communication.

The market Revolution had a large impact on the northeast, the Midwest, and the south for a variety of reasons. The way it impacted the north was it stimulated the distribution of products and grew industries like the textile industry that were largely created, made and sold in the north, creating wealth in that area. Meanwhile, for the Midwest and the south, many products created during this time revolutionized farming and made it more profitable to farm cash crops such as tobacco and cotton. Both of these effects at their cores were economically based which is the whole reason why the Market Revolution started.

The market revolution had a great impact on the northeast, midwest, and south because of improvements in travel. Many railroads and canals were constructed and allowed people and goods to get from one place to another for far less money. This allowed easier trade and the expansion of the economy to previously unavailable or hard-to-reach places, which made all regions accumulate more wealth and opportunities.

The Northeast was able to produce more manufactured goods, the Midwest gained many New England farmers to produce agricultural yields, and the South profited from increased market support for their cash crops. The economic growth seen from the market revolution was a direct result of the increase in imports and exports throughout the U.S.

In the Northeast, industrialization took hold with factories and urban growth, while the Midwest became an agricultural powerhouse due to innovations in farming and improved transportation. Meanwhile, the South’s economy became increasingly reliant on cotton production and slavery, driven by the cotton gin and demand for textiles. Canals and railroads allowed for trade between the three with the cotton being farmed in the South, manufactured into textiles in the Northeast, and sold in the Midwest.

In the Northeast, an influx of immigrants led to the rise of nativism and the know-nothings, both immigrants and Americans migrated to the Midwest seeking opportunity, and poor yeoman often migrated away from the South and its rigid hierarchy. The Market Revolution prompted great amounts of migration, as people sought better lives. These patterns of migration clearly reflect the effects of the Market Revolution.

The market revolution had a great impact on the Northeast, the Midwest, and the South in the sense that it created the middle class. Before the market revolution, people were either extremely wealthy or extremely poor, but as the gap widened more between these two classes, and more economic opportunities from the Industrial Revolution arose, there became a more distinct middle class. The growing American economy during the market revolution helped fill in the gap between those with money and those with none, and this population of people could begin to build standard lives for themselves and their families.

A) The Market Revolution had a great impact on the Northeast because it facilitated the flow of goods to and from the region. For example, more goods could now be transported to places they couldn’t be taken previously and this transportation was now cheaper than before. As a result of new, cheaper forms of transportation, the factory-based economy of the Northeast benefitted from the Market Revolution.

B) The Market Revolution had a great impact on the Midwest because of the rise of new forms of transportation. For example, railroads and canals connected land and waterways throughout the Midwest and into the Northeast and South, which supported transportation of goods and the increasing need for services. With more access to different places with diverse features, the Midwest benefitted from more forms of transportation, as it expanded its economy.

C) One reason why the Market Revolution had a great impact on the South because it expanded the ever-increasing cotton industry. With more opportunities from the Market Revolution from new inventions that facilitated the cotton picking process, more was able to be produced than ever and numbers exponentially increased.
