Scale is a principle of design that sets the normal size seen within an artwork. It shows the relative size of one form in relation to another. Scale can also be used to shift perspective and create a depth of field.

Scale is an important element of composition that increases the sense of three dimensional space in a photo, drawing or painting. By including a sense of scale and proportion in your photographs you may be better able to tell the story you want to tell.

No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles along the way. But what starts out as a journey to find worldly goods turns into a discovery of the treasures found within. Lush, evocative, and deeply humane, the story of Santiago is an eternal testament to the transforming power of our dreams and the importance of listening to our hearts.

Summary：

"All men have fixed ideas about how they should live, but are confused about how they should live." This is what struck me from the book The Alchemist. The book, also known by an alternative title as The Fantastic Voyage of the Shepherd Boys, is a full-length novel by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho, first published in 1988, the most translated novel by any living author today, sold in more than 160 countries, and has been hailed as one of the most important literary phenomena of the 20th century. It tells the fable of a young boy who follows his destiny in heaven, with highly poetic and philosophical language and a broad and subtle perspective, creating a world of words that has fascinated countless people. As a contemporary book of long fiction, it reveals that realising one's dreams is a difficult process that requires courage, wisdom, perseverance and trials, and has accompanied many people through the low points of their own lives.

The story is about a teenage shepherd who runs around in pursuit of his dream. In the beginning, he sells wool to make a living with his flock. Later, he has two dreams in a row about the treasure hidden in the Egyptian pyramids, so he embarks on a journey to find the treasure. After being robbed of his money by thieves, the young man has to work for a local crystal merchant in order to survive. With his talent, the young man is able to save up a fortune. Unwilling to be a shepherd, the boy's passion for the treasure grew even stronger when he was inspired by the dream interpreter and King Melchisedek, the King of Salem! After selling his flock, he starts his journey south, crossing the ocean to Africa, crossing the Dead Sea to the Sahara Desert, travelling in a caravan in the desert, but the caravan is stalled because of the war in the oasis of Fiume, where the alchemist lives, and meets the alchemist and the young girl, Fátima, who is the love of his life at first sight, and then, when he is back on the path of treasure, the alchemist helps him to get through the difficult times, and walks to the pyramid, where he finds the treasure! The treasure is hidden in the same abandoned church where Santiago once dreamt of the pyramid. Santiago goes back to the way he came, digs up the treasure at the original familiar shepherding place, and eventually ends up with the young girl, Fatima. However, when the teenager finds the treasure, he realises that the real treasure is not actually precious stones and gold, but the experience of searching for the treasure makes him deeply realise that those who follow their dreams with abandon are often favoured by the heavens.

Coelho dreamed of becoming an outstanding writer when he was ten years old, but he was not gifted, and he even dared not face up to his inner desire, thinking that his childhood dream of being a writer was far away and absurd, and it was only when he was thirty-eight years old that he made up his mind to realise his wish of being a writer, and perhaps he was also the shepherd boy in the book.

Why is it that this book has accompanied many people through the trough of their lives? This is closely related to the many positive attitudes towards difficulties embedded in it. The book's young man repeatedly frustrated, but not easily give up on their own, the fire in the heart of the pursuit of dreams can always be rekindled. Why don't we need this quality?

The young man meets many people on his journey to find the treasure, which is also very similar to our life, in short, there are three kinds of people.

Firstly, people who are afraid of their own dreams, shepherd boy on his journey to find the treasure, stolen money by thieves, no travelling expenses, he had to work for the local crystal merchants, with the boy's many wonders, but also to make the business more and more prosperous, he has repeatedly to the businessman to propose to the businessman to expand the size of the shop, but was rejected by the businessman.
